Bosch Dishwasher Won't Start Cycle

Bosch Dishwasher Won't Start Cycle

I have a Bosch SHEM63W52N that is getting stuck in the beginning of the cycle, exactly 7-9 minutes into it, depending on the cycle type. It will start, seem to function normally, and then not progress through the cycle. It is spraying, filling, and draining fine. It doesn't get far enough along to dispense the detergent, bosch dishwasher won't start cycle, The display will show the same time remaining no matter how long it runs.

And if your hot water is working, the only other thing I’d think to try is shut off the power, take off the kick plate and feel if there’s standing water in the base tray. I had a Bosch that had a clog in the internal filter and it backed up the water until it leaked out into the base tray. I would try to run the dishwasher and it’d just go into the drain cycle and wouldn’t stop draining even though the dishwasher was empty. Once I removed the water from the base tray behind the kick plate  (soaking it up with a sponge and squeezing it out into a bucket), then the dishwasher would progress, bosch dishwasher won't start cycle.

I have a Bosch dishwasher, and mine would not progress through the, or it would get to the end of the cycle, and have "1 minute" left on the cycle, and would stay like that for 2 or 4 or 6 hours. Some Googling led me to this.  Mine has a dispenser for rinse agent, which I did not particularly use for whatever reason.  I just left the rinse agent reservoir empty, bosch dishwasher won't start cycle. Someone somewhere posted that there is a sensor in that reservoir, and wthout rinse agent, it throws the whole cycle and cycle-timer out of whack.  I filled the rinse agent with Jet Dry, and my Bosch has been running tip-top ever since.

You finally got the dishwasher of your dreams, even though you did have to buy the display model because it was the only one left. But now the darn thing won’t run. You start a cycle and the time counts down, but nothing else happens. What’s wrong? It could be that the dishwasher is still in the Sales Demo Mode. Most dishwashers with electronic controls have a demonstration mode to show the control console’s display features, bosch dishwasher won't start cycle. When the dishwasher is in demo mode, the control console lights up and the timer counts down, but the dishwasher doesn’t really work.

Sales Demo Mode doesn’t affect just new dishwashers either. The demo mode can turn on if you (or a curious child) press the right sequence of buttons. It’s even possible for the dishwasher to enter demo mode on its own because of a power surge or a control malfunction. If you find your dishwasher in demo mode, look up your dishwasher type to see how to disable the mode. This list covers a variety of Kenmore, KitchenAid, JennAir, Whirlpool, GE, Bosch and Electrolux models. If your model isn't covered in this list, contact the dishwasher manufacturer for the procedure to disable the demo mode, bosch dishwasher won't start cycle.

If you have determined that the door latch assembly is operating properly and your dishwasher still won’t start, the next step would be to look at the timer or electronic control. The first step of the dishwasher cycle is normally a drain function to remove any standing water in the tub. If you do not hear the drain pump motor running, then you should look at the timer or electronic control as a possible cause, bosch dishwasher won't start cycle. On manual timer models, the timer is used to supply power to the pump motor, water inlet valve, heater circuit and drain pump motor at the proper sequence in the cycle. The timer uses a series of electrical contacts that are driven by a small motor all of which are encased in the timer housing.
